Command line FTP - Access Denied?

Jump to solution

We're looking to automate our file upload that is currently only processed manually.

After following: https://helpdesk.egnyte.com/hc/en-us/articles/201637844-Command-Line-FTP

When trying to upload a file an error message is given of "Access Denied" and I'm stumped as to why this is happening. Any suggestions?

Hello Kasey,

It would have helped to know if there was any error code along with the Access Denied message. Please ensure that the username format is username@domain and only a power user or an admin user credential is used.

Kindly try the following command line on your end and let us know if it works for you : -

curl -k -T testfile.txt --ftp-ssl --ftp-pasv -u "username\$domain:password" ftp://ftp-domain.egnyte.com/

curl -k -T testfile.txt --ftp-ssl --ftp-pasv -u "username\$domain:password" ftp://ftp-domain.egnyte.com/Shared/testdirectory/

If this too does not work it is best to get help from our support team.

Thank

Sagar

The error message I'm getting is "curl: (67) Access is denied: 451"

What's the best way to get in contact with the support team?

Kasey,

For now, I have submitted a support case on your behalf. The support case number is #682196. You must have received an email about this case in your inbox. Please reply to that email with your contact number. This will help if support is unable to resolve the issue over email.

For submitting a support case yourself, you can always do it from the helpdesk section of your Egnyte UI or send an email to support@egnyte.com.

Thanks

Sagar.
