When a user is going to overwrite a file  a) they are warned/notified that they are overwriting a file and b) any links to the previous file are deleted/invalidated at that time?

Hi Jefrey,

If a user edits a file locally or via any of the apps that connect with Egnyte, the file is saved on top of the existing version as far as the filename does not change. Egnyte offers file versioning on the UI and thus newer versions of the same file are uploaded in the same directory. If the file name changes, then the file is treated as a different file.

For share links, you can adjust your link's settings prior to sharing it, click "Change link options" ==> Under "Change link options", you can set whether the link always points to the most recent version of the file or whether it references this version only.

I hope this helps.

Thanks

Sagar
