Multiple Project Turbo Devices

Jump to solution

The FAQ for Turbo says the following:

Can I install multiple Project Turbo devices in the same location?

No, We recommend only one Project Turbo device be installed at a given location.

What happens if we have a reason to have more than one in the same location (if the client wants to cache more than 16 TB) for example?

Hi @Marc Kravitz,

We do not recommend multiple VM's at one location.

The desktop app discovery uses latency as the key metric to connect to Turbo. So if there are two Turbo VMs with the similar latency it can lead to a ping pong effect between two Turbo devices with the app not getting to a point to decide which one to connect to.

If you want to use multiple devices at one location, then you would have to create separate user group policies and separate the users. Meaning a few users groups access Turbo 1 and a few access Turbo 2. But all the groups accessing Turbo 1 & Turbo 2 both will not be a workable solution.

Thanks.
