Relative performance between Personal Local Cloud and OLC on a ReadyNAS NVX

There is a performance table that compares the ReadyNAS NV+ and the ReadyNAS NVX, but I don't see any similar performance data for the PLC? Has anyone done any testing? It seems that the PLC running on a PC would have more horsepower than an NVX, but there may be other factors.

In the case I'm looking at the benefits of using a NAS (sharing, etc) are not a factor as this is for a single user in a remote office.

Thanks,

Re: Relative performance between Personal Local Cloud and OLC on a ReadyNAS NVX

Hi Marty,

Thank you for your question. For a single user in a remote office, the Personal Local Cloud is the best option. In general we do not stack up PLC against OLC since they are two different categories of solutions with two different audiences.  Also, since PLC is usually deployed on a PC/MAC and these newer machines have a 4 GB RAM as a standard these days, PLC performance should be good on a typical machine.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or suggestions.

Best,

Emily
