We would love to use Egnyte for our roaming field users on their laptops so they could take files away from the office and have them sync back to the network file server (ELC) and then the internet - (bit like Novell iFolder was supposed to do..) however currently the 'personal cloud storage' on users laptops syncs directly to the internet and ignores the fact that the ELC server is on the same LAN... which is fine if you have small data and huge internet connections - but we want to use this in a large scale deployment to sync >500GB data and with the max internet connection speed in Argentina being 1MB/s we can't have more than one 'device' uploading to Egnyte...
Please implement this feature - It fill the gap between Novel iFolder.. Microsoft Offline Files and Dropbox :)
Thank you for the suggestion. At the moment we are not planning on adding this to our product. However, if we see more users requesting this feature we will consider adding it in the future.
Yes, you can definitely count us in. LAN sync is huge for us as we're in the graphic design business. This is one of the very nice feature of Dropbox!
I cannot argue strenuously enough for this option to be implemented. The idea of having the OLC sync up to the cloud only to then have to sync down from the cloud to the PLC, when the box running the OLC is sitting on your LAN is...well...just plain inefficient.
Please implement this feature! :)
