Q: "When is the roadmap for Egnyte Storage Sync to be available in the Azure market place?"
A: "We are actively testing Storage Sync on Azure right now and so far haven't seen any issues. Since it is based on Hyper-V, we expect it to work well and have some customers already using it, but others are waiting for it to be in the marketplace and officially supported, which we're working on."
Q: "changing username: will it be present if I am using AD Kit? We are changing names from on Premise AD will it be available?"
A: "Yes, that is the idea. We want to be able to identify changes made in source systems and then update the user in Egnyte. It is possible that there may be some cases where it needs to be done manually, but our goal is to make the vast majority of these cases automatic on the Egnyte side."
Q: "Is Desktop supported on RDS sessions?"
A: "It is not officially certified for usage on Remote Desktop, but we know that some customers are using the Desktop App on Windows Server with RDS. We have heard of some cases where the right-click menu doesn't show up and some issues with UNC-path based access (we also support other approaches), so we're planning on focusing some effort early next year on analyzing these issues to see if we can officially support it."
Q: "Can you use the switch user option when using SSO?"
A: "If you're referring to the mobile account switching, then yes, it doesn't matter what type of authentication you use. You need to authenticate to each account separately, but once authenticated you can switch between the accounts."
Q: "Is there an eta on when the scan and photos for Android will be available?"
A: "We are hoping to release this early in 2019 - we've made good progress on the page detection algorithms and are fixing some corner cases in the machine learning models before we incorporate it into the Android app. Thanks for your patience. You can also kudo the post in our Ideas section to show your support for this feature."
Q: "Is it possible to point Egnyte Protect at on on-prem non-Egnyte fileshare?"
A: "Yes. Egnyte Protect can scan Windows File Shares and SharePoint On-prem."
