Boolean "NOT" not working

I  can't seem to exclude any terms with "NOT"

Tried these combos:

"Term1" AND NOT "Term2"

"Term1" NOT "Term2"

"Term1" AND (NOT "Term2")

"Term1" NOT ("Term2")

"Term1" AND (NOT ("Term2"))

The use of NOT (All uppercase or all lowercase) makes no difference in the search results.  What am I doing wrong?
