It would be nice to be able to set default permissions for new folders created in the root Shared directory.
Hi Jeff, Currently the default permissions for folder creation in the root Shared are set explicitly for admins only. You will need to manually add permissions to other users for the root folders. However, any subfolders you create within the root folders automatically inherit all permissions of the root folder. In this way, all subfolders essentially have default permissions.
The best way to resolve your problem for root folders would be to add one of the global groups to the root folder permission: All Power Users, All Standard Users, _or _All Standard Users and Power Users. This way, when you create a new folder, you only need to invite one group to give everybody permission. Much easier than adding users individually every time.
