Need Refresh Users *without auto-map*

Need Refresh Users *without auto-map*

When Egnyte added the option to "Refresh and Auto-map" user accounts to the OLC, it was a great feature.  However, there are cases when auto-mapping is not desirable and we simply need to refresh users without auto-map.  For instance, if an organization has more than one OLC, and half their accounts should be mapped on one and the other half mapped on the other unit.  When adding a new user to one unit, there is no option to refresh without auto-mapping.  As a result the complete list of users will get mapped to the OLC, rather than just the one you want.

The easiest way to fix this is to have a second option for "Refresh Users" that does not auto-map.  This would allow an admin to add just a single account to a single OLC.

Alternatively, Egnyte should develop a more sophisitcated way to map users independently to one or more OLCs.

Thx!

Hi Marco,

Apologies for the delayed response. Have you tried just searching for the user and then manually mapping them?

Yes, that doesn't do anything to refresh the list of users from egnyte cloud.  This is really a much needed feature to refresh without auto-mapping.  I just spent 30 minutes deleting mappings that shouldn't have been auto-mapped after a refresh.

Hi Marco,

I will open up a case and will submit this as an enhancement request to our Product Team. We are currently in development for this feature and your feedback came at a great time.

Hi Marco,

Have you checked out Project Turbo, our next generation of Hybrid Solution? This allows you to directly associate a specific group of users to a given device without the need to refresh/auto-map every time. When you add a new user to a Turbo device, you will simply add the user to the Turbo group in CFS and that immediately takes effect for the newly-added user on the device without impacting the existing mapping on the device.
