Does Egnyte Improve Simultaneous Editing in Microsoft Office Online?
We have found that simultaneous editing of Word and Excel in Office 365 Online works ok, but often has issues of losing changes or not saving. I understand the Microsoft API limits how Egnyte can integrate auto-saving and simultaneous editing of documents. But I am wondering if using Egnyte in anyway improves the Office simultaneous editing experience, with more reliable/faster file saving and syncing for example.
Re: Does Egnyte Improve Simultaneous Editing in Microsoft Office Online?
We are not sure on the current auto saving on the Microsoft side. For the Egnyte side we follow a Microsoft designed protocol where we save depending on the type of the document. Word (30 seconds), Excel (every 2 minutes) and PowerPoint (every 60 seconds) based on updates. This is a protocol that all partners use and saving is controlled by Microsoft.
