Folder permissions

Good day,

Is there a way to create a group of users who can only access the "share link" function, within the folder that they have permssion to access.... but lock them out of all other folders or not allow them the "share link" function in other folders?

We have several users who need to ba able to create weblinks to documents for non-Egnyte users, but we do not want them to be able to create share links to documents in other folders.

Re: Folder permissions

Hi @MWalker1

Our standard Folder Permission assignment should suffice for this task. See example below:

/Shared/Folder A/
>> Folder contains various file contents

/Shared/Folder A/Folder B/
>> Folder contains various file contents

/Shared/Folder A/Folder B/Folder C/
>> Folder contains various file contents

/Shared/Folder A/Folder B/Folder C/Folder D/
>> Folder contains various file contents

When a Folder Permission (e.g. Viewer, Editor, Full, etc) is assigned to /Shared/Folder A/Folder B/Folder C/Folder D/ for [User One], [User One] will be able to navigate (Navigation Access) back and forth to /Folder A/, /Folder B/ and /Folder C/ -- however, [User One] will not be able to view any of the contents outside of /Folder D/

Please refer to our Folder Permissions helpdesk article for more information: https://helpdesk.egnyte.com/hc/en-us/articles/201637444-Folder-Permissions

Regards,
Nars
