Locked Files

Jump to solution

When an employee opens an excel or word document using Egnyte drive, it says the file is locked because it is being used by another user.  No one else has the file open.  If the employee immediately closes it and then reopens it then there is no issue.  Not sure why it keeps saying files are opened by someone else.  Any thoughts?

thanks

Hi Scott,

Certainly sounds strange. Your note certainly makes it clear that in most probability the file is not locked by any user. Have you tried re-installing the app or unmount & remount the drive to see if that helps.

Have you tried re-installing the app or unmount & remount the drive to see if that helps ? Also is this issue being experienced by all the users using Egnyte Drive ?

Thanks

Sagar

Alexander,

I do not see any set steps to get this issue resolved. This would also not be the right platform for troubleshooting this issue. So I suggest you get in touch with our support team at support@egnyte.com

Thanks
